Disaster Strikes in New Delhi

Three big cranes, two weighing 250 tonnes and one weighing 350 tonnes collapsed in an accident in New Delhi while working on the city's prestigious metro project.

Four cranes, the three mentioned above and a 400 tonner were attempting to lift the man beam of a launcher crane that had previously collapsed while moving a 300 tonne section of a concrete overpass into place.

Six people died and a further thirteen were injured.
